Strains of drug-resistant tuberculosis are a major threat to global TB control disease centers. In the low and middle-income countries, it possesses great challenge due to underdeveloped health care system and resource constraints, which make it difficult to identify and monitor drug resistance cases using drug susceptibility testing and culture. Molecular assays such as CBNAAT, TRUENAT, GeneXpert and Line probe assays prove cost-effective solution to this problem in this setting. The objective of the study is to evaluate the use of molecular assays and Line probe assays in the diagnosis of pulmonary Tuberculosis and its drug resistance and treatment outcome in the patients of Kashmir valley.
