Background: Concerning COVID-19, levels of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), the said host receptor of the virus responsible for COVID-19 (intense acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2; SARS-CoV-2), were located to be elevated in patients with COPD.
