Background: During a 9 months period, September 2005 through June 2006, Nevada documented six cases of pediatric HIV acquired through motherâÂÃ?Â?ÂÃ?Â?toâÂÃ?Â?ÂÃ?Â?child transmission. Subsequently, a communityâÂÃ?Â?ÂÃ?Â?based approach to the care of women and children living with or exposed to HIV was implemented.
