Prevalence of dental caries in children with cleft lip and palate was shown to be high compared to any other oral complications. The prevalence of associated systemic disease and those are defected postnatally is 25% among children with cleft. The number of factors such as literacy level of their parents, socioeconomic status and occupation of parents also contributes to the poor oral hygiene status of those children.
