Background: High blood pressure is the number one contributing factor to the global burden of non-communicable disease. Though genetic and environmental factors play an important role in the causation of blood pressure but the main influencing factor and an important emerging public health problem in developing countries like India is obesity for which waist circumference is the most important anthropometry. This study was carried out with objective to find out prevalence of Hypertension and to assess its association with waist circumference.
