Impact of Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Educational Component in Patients with Severe Asthma

Background: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory airways disease, which produces an increase in the reactivity and recurrent episodes of wheezing, respiratory distress and cough. Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) and education is a strategy that improves the quality of life and health status of patients. Objective: To determine the impact of PR with an educational component on functional aerobic capacity, symptoms, anxiety, depression and quality of life related to health in patients with severe asthma.
