    Epidemiology of Injuries in Kashmir - A Population based Cross Sectional Study

    Background: More than 5 million people die each year as a result of injuries. This accounts for 9% of the world’s deaths, nearly 1.7 times the number of fatalities that result from HIV/ AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria combined. Despite growing awareness of the magnitude of the problem, attention to injury and violence prevention and control among policymakers and those funding global public health programming remains disproportionately low.
